This is because sand and grit can easily accumulate on stair treads due to the bending of the soles of shoes while walking up and down the stairs. It is also advisable to keep dirty shoes away from the stairs as well as the attractive runners.

Oak stair treads are of many different varieties- the red oak stair treads which are hard, strong, and rigid with a pronounced open grain, red oak stair treads resists warping. The reddish color brings about a great finish, but is moderately difficult to cut them as per the required sizes. Then there are white oak stair treads which are also hard and strong, the white oak is open-grained, but not as pronounced as red oak. White oak stair treads resist shrinking and warping, has a golden color, and has a very nice finish as well.
